This solar cylinder is specifically designed to work with the domestic heating system, and has additional coils to transfer heat from a traditional heating source such as a domestic or solid fuel boiler.
The solar coil, manufactured with high efficiency finned tube, features a large surface area to transfer heat from the solar panels into the solar hot water cylinder. The boiler coil, manufactured to BS 1566, can also be supplied as high recovery to reduce boiler cycling.
Built in accordance with the relevant British Standards and in compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations, this solar cylinder combines high-performance heating coils with low heat loss and factory-applied insulation to deliver an efficient and effective way to store and supply domestic hot water. Our polyurethane foam lagging, the most environmentally friendly type available, can be applied up to a thickness of 75mm, with an ozone depletion potential of zero and a global warming potential of one.
The cylinder has a capacity of 150 litres, with a size of 1300 x 400mm. It has a dedicated solar volume of 69 litres, and a solar coil area of 1.62m2. The cylinder has a boiler flow of 850mm and boiler return of 550mm, while the solar flow and return are 400mm and 100mm respectively. The cold feed is 100mm, with H Stat Pocket at 1130mm and L Stat Pocket at 175mm.
